water looks fun to play in, looks realy cold
Dang, looks like you have to have at least a bit of skill for this.
good stuff justing. would love to see some of your other n. idaho vids, like the pack and stuff. hope all is well.
thanks
jesse from missoula…
nice work, if you can get it.
This run is as far away from you in Idaho as you could get. lol It is one of the many brilliant runs up north here near the canadian border.
Yes they are close to that. Short and Phat!
Thanks Donny! Hope your hitting good stuff!
wow i live in boise and never ssen that stcrech before i usually hit up the sf payette and the main all the time
nice vid im kinda new to kayaking and was wondering if these are 7.5′ ?
This is at run off… see the snow!? Anything more than 500cfs will get really crazy!
Well, the Payette has a lot more water and a much longer season for starters. The Smith is almost all granite bedrock, unlike the jumbled dynamited debris along the Payette. There is only one short class 4 section and the rest is class 5 on the smith so there is no beginners section per say. When the water is right, this creek is one of the best creeks in the west, hands down. Try and hit it up around the first of May for the best timing since there is no real-time gauge. Enjoy!
I just love that this is in Idaho, and you’re playing built to spill. also, how does this compare to the kayaking on the payette between cascade and horseshoe bend??
great video Justin ,
rapid lighting is running right now, probably never be up for smith myself, was great to experience it through your lens
Donny
I would love to see footage of others experiencing this at runoff.
some of this water looks pretty chilly
