Entry from: Nelson, New Zealand Entry Title: “Hiking and Kayaking in Abel Tasman National Park” Entry: “After Kaikoura i spent one night in Nelson. The day after myself and a few others went on a 2 day hiking trip in Abel Tasman National Park. The hike took all day but it was not difficult, pretty flat. The weather was awesome and the views amazing. We camped in Tents on Bark Bay. I was bitten all over by sand flies – so that was annoying and very itchy for a few days! We all had a drink round the camp fire chewing the fat to the wee small hours. The next day we went sea kayaking – it was alot of fun.” Read and see more at: www.travelpod.com Photos from this trip: 1. “Abel tasman1″ 2. “Abel tasman2″ 3. “Abel tasman3″ 4. “Abel tasman4″ 5. “Abel tasman5″ 6. “Abel tasman6″ 7. “Abel tasman8″ 8. “Possum” 9. “Sandfly bay” 10. “Sea kayaking abel tasman” See this TripWow and more at tripwow.tripadvisor.com

Entry from: Nelson, New Zealand Entry Title: “Kayaking the Abel Tasman” Entry: “Managed to somehow get packed and ready by the time our bus got to our hostel! Seemed to be the only ones staying overnight judging by everyone elses lack of bags. When we got to the kayaking place we dropped off all our stuff and headed out to the beach to start our kayaking. We got to wear special kayak skirts and Julia even picked out some sexy Where’s Wally thermals! As the tide was coming in we had to dash into our kayaks and before we knew it we were off and away. The kayaking was so laid back, hardly had to break a sweat at all. We stopped off along the way to check out all the coves and on our guide’s insistence smell everything. Our guide was awesome telling us all the Maori stories of the area and had us chanting Maori canoeing songs. Was fantastic! Our lunch stop was in a kayakers only bay and was one of the best lunches we’d ever had…a huge sarnie, massive cookie and then a cracking muffin. Brilliant! We’ll be going to Brumby’s again! Afterwards we paddled up the coast and up a river, feeling very intrepid! Of course the scenery was beautiful!! When we got to Bark’s bay we had to walk 15 minutes with all our camping kit…well i had to carry it all whilst Julia carried the camera. Its very important:) The …
