Darcy and Tom white water kayaking on the capilano river. my 3rd and 4th times. I got my first roll and my first high brace save! i also got dumped a couple times. What should I do with my camera while kayaking?

I will be visiting Lake Powell (in Utah) over the summer. I want to go kayaking on the lake, but I don’t know what to do with my (DSLR $500) camera. I’ll be between hotels, so I can’t leave it in my room. Any suggestions? I don’t want to leave it in my rental car (theft, heat).
I don’t think some people read the details – I will be ‘between hotels’, traveling from Kanab to Kayenta, so I can’t keep it at my hotel.
