Really nicely filmed and demonstrated and explained. The only issue I have with this is that most touring kayaks don’t allow anywhere near that degree of lie-back, which changes the mechanics of the roll quite a bit. The ‘average’ boat is much wider, the back of the cockpit is closer and higher, and the deck itself is higher. You can balance brace, but then there’s a wide, high obstacle to finishing the roll smoothly since there’s just no way to rotate cleanly onto the back deck.

Excellent instruction. Best I have heard so far.

Not many people can ‘L’ their body the way ‘old Floppy Head’ can. She has great lateral flexibility.

If, as Helen comments, you are using your shoulders and arms to muscle a roll, then you are doing it wrong no matter WHAT kind of paddle you may be using, stick or Euro. Or no paddle at all! ;-)
